"Do the Work"

In this exploration of James 1, we're reminded that our faith journey is more than just hearing God's word—it's about putting it into action. Like cleaning out a cluttered garage, our spiritual lives sometimes need intentional work and reorganization. We're called to welcome God's word planted deep within us, approaching it with joy rather than reluctance. This may mean saying 'no' to certain things in order to say 'yes' to Jesus, whether it's in how we start and end our day or in our generosity. Our individual acts of faith, no matter how small, come together like streams forming a mighty river, shaping the world around us. As we reflect on our daily lives, we should ask ourselves: Did we offer peace? Bring joy? Speak healing words? Let go of anger? Forgive? Love? These questions help us gauge whether we're truly living out our faith.
