I was born in Baton Rouge, LA but grew up in the Metroplex. I graduated from Martin High School in Arlington and from there went on to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. I graduated from SFA with a degree in business and sociology. After graduating from SFA I married Alisha and we lived in the Arlington area. I worked for four years for an industrial scale company in marketing. I answered God’s call to ministry in the United Methodist Church in 1998 and began working on my Masters of Divinity at Brite Divinity School. I served as an associate pastor at Alliance UMC (far north Fort Worth) while going through seminary. After seminary, I was appointed to the FUMC Dawson/Tehuacana UMC charge. I served Dawson and Tehuacana for five years before being appointed to my current appointment at FUMC Mexia in 2006. I enjoy starting new ministries in the churches where I serve and in particular, have a real passion for reaching those who have never been connected with a church. I believe every church should be actively engaged in outreach/missions, both locally and abroad. I also think it is important for our churches to be invitational. With our Wesleyan heritage we have a great foundation to share the story of God’s grace and love through Jesus Christ. In every church I have served I have stressed being invitational in conventional and not so conventional ways, and will continue to do so. In addition to my work through the church, I enjoy fishing, golf, jogging, going to sporting events, and hanging out with friends and family. I have an older sister who lives in Burleson, TX and my mom and dad live in Nemo, TX (just outside of Glen Rose). My dad is a retired United Methodist pastor who served most recently at Salado UMC.

My wife, Alisha, grew up in Mesquite, TX. We met at SFA and married in 1996. Alisha received her degree in education at SFA and has been a teacher in various settings for over ten years. She enjoys scrapbooking, going to the lake, spending time with family and friends, and jogging. Alisha’s parents live just east of Dallas in Combine, TX. Alisha has a younger sister and brother. We have two sons – Ben (age 10)) and Andrew (7). Ben is a sports nut. I think his first words were ESPN! Mush like his brother Andrew enjoys sports but also has an artistic side that he certainly didn’t inherit from his father. We are all looking forward to the ministry we will share together with you at Central!

I was born by the beaches of Tampa, Florida, spurring on a love for the outdoors.  Later my family moved to Flower Mound, TX, a suburb of Dallas, where basketball became the driving force in my life. Life revolved around what I did.  My walk with Christ began in high school, while serving with Amor Ministries in Juarez, Mexico.  A community of individuals came together to camp, cook, build a house, mess up a lot, get dirty, laugh a lot, learn a lot, and build relationships with God’s children in Mexico.  From this point on, I knew that life revolved around something greater than what any one individual does.  Instead, it revolves around our response to being loved in spite of what we are and what we do.

I went on to study at Baylor University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in Recreation and Leisure Services.  Currently, I am studying at Truett Seminary, with a focus in Christian Education.  I hope to eventually do inner city ministry of some sort and bridge the gap between the church and the forgotten of the world.  Conversing about/with God over coffee and being outside are just about my two favorite things.

I was born in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. My family moved to Port Deposit, Maryland when I was 2 years old and I lived there until I went to work for the United States Government.
I graduated from Wesley College, Dover, Delaware with an Associate of Arts Degree, and received a Bachelors of Science Degree from Towson University, Towson, Maryland. On January 9, 1967, I went to work for the Department of the Army at Fort Holabird, Baltimore, Maryland; transferred to Austin, Texas, July 1980 as a Special Agent with the Defense Investigative Service, Department of Defense. I was promoted September 1986 to the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Austin Field Office. June 1, 1995, I transferred to Waco, TX where I retired on February 3, 2005 with 35 years of government service. I have one daughter, Denise who resides with her husband in Austin, TX. I also have two beautiful granddaughters, Avery, 6 years old and Rylee, 3 years old. While church shopping, I found CUMC when it was still located on 18th Street. I knew fairly soon this is where the Lord wanted me to be. I had found a church home and family that welcome me into their fold. I truly feel blessed and loved at CUMC.

I was born very, very far north of the Red River (in Indiana), grew up in Los Angeles, but got to Texas as soon as I could. I grew up in the Evangelical United Brethren (EUB) denomination which merged with the Methodists in the 1960’s. Went to a Southern Baptist church during high school but came back to the United Methodist church later. I have made Waco my home since 1982, and married my hubby, Mike, in 1988. It’s a good thing I enjoy working with numbers since that is what I do here at Central.  I also enjoy singing, sewing and participating at the Waco Civic Theatre. We have one feline ‘child’, Rutabaga, who is 16 years old now.

I also work at Central Faith Child Development Center as their Financial Secretary.
